Item THE EFFECT OF SALES SKILLS ON SELLING PERFORMANCE: THE CASE OF ETHIO-TELECOM, HAWASSA DISTRICT(HAWASSA UNIVERSITY, 2024-01) MEAZA TEFERA HANDAROThis study is conducted with an objective of identifying effect of sales skills on selling performance in Ethio telecom Hawassa district. Technical, interpersonal, marketing and salesmanship skills were used as dimension of sales skills. This study is conducted by using both descriptive and explanatory research designs. The purposive sampling technique was used. The total target population of the study was 801 and from the total target population 267 employees of the company were purposively selected and participated in the study by providing their responses about their sales skills and sales performance through questionnaire. Yamane (1967:886) sampling size technique was employed. The data collected with questionnaire was analysed by using both descriptive and explanatory analysis methods. Frequencies, percentiles, mean and standard deviation were used as descriptive methods. Correlation and multivariate linear regression methods were used to answer research questions. The finding of the study identified that selling skills have significant effect on sales performance. The major findings are; Among the dimensions of selling skills used in the study, marketing skill has no statistically significant effect on selling performance. But technical, interpersonal and salesmanship skills have positive significant effect on selling performance of the company. The most important and significant selling skill that affect selling performance is salesmanship skills with the highest mean value of 4.0 Based on this finding it is recommended to increase technical, interpersonal and salesmanship skills to increase selling performanceItem AN ASSESSMENT OF THE EFFECTS OF QUALITY OF FIXED BROADBAND INTERNET ON CUSTOMERSATISFACTION IN ETHIO TELECOM IN THE CASE OF SHASHEMENE GRAND SHOP(HAWASSA UNIVERSITY, 2024-02) BEHAILU BIRHANUThe objectives of this study was to assess customer satisfaction by different variables like quality, price, service provision, after sales service and security then put clear recommendation and conclusion to the company accordingly. To attain this objective, the study utilized both interview and questionnaire survey. In depth personal interview was made with Ethio telecom management members to understand the service delivery mechanism and 290 questionnaires were distributed across residential and enterprise customers in shashemene. The survey questions were developed based on Likertscale questions and customers were asked to rate their satisfaction across the parameters identified. This paper used descriptive research design in order to obtain pertinent and precise information about the satisfaction level of customers being studied and qualitative methods were employed to describe the service delivery mechanism and narrate open ended questions in the questionnaire whereas quantitative methods were used to show the phenomenon in numbers. After data collection, the collected data was analyzed using SPSS 23.0 and Microsoft excel software packages. Then the data organized, tabulated, depicted, and described in a way that can attain the objective of the study. Finally, the finding shows that customers were not satisfied with the service provisioning, pricing, quality, and after sales support. Thus, Ethio telecom should learn a valuable lesson from this specific study since the study guides the higher official on which facet of customer satisfaction area should focus.Service provisioning issue was measured using five basic questions and the finding of the study shows that customers are not satisfied with the service provisioning/delivery mechanism. In addition, using four basic FBBI questions, assessment was taken among enterprise and residential customers. It was found that customers are dissatisfied with the current pricing scheme employed by Ethio Telecom. In addition, using four basic FBBI questions, assessment was taken among enterprise and residential customers was found that customers are dissatisfied with the current pricing scheme employed by Ethio TelecomItem EFECT OF CAREER DEVELOPMENT PRACTICE ON EMPLOYEES MOTIVATION: A CASE OF HAWELA WOREDA SELECTED OFFICE(HAWASSA UNIVERSITY, 2024-03) HALCHITU HAMISOThe most perpetual challenge in most organizations today is lack of a well-structured career development and employee motivation. This has heightened the need for career development practices in order to motivate employee in most organizations. While extensive literature exists, career development, the focus has largely been on its influence on performance and productivity, leaving out the role of employee motivation. The study thus set out to investigate effects of Career development practice on employee’s motivation in Haweela woreda selected office. A theoretical framework was used as a guideline to test the effect of the career development practices such as staff training, promotion, career planning and staff counseling on employee’s motivation from the relevant literatures. The study used descriptive and explanatory research design. The population of this study was a total of 451.Sample of 211 employees was used to collect the data. Stratified sampling technique was employed. A structured questionnaire was used for purposes of data collection and data was analyzed using inferential statistics. However, only 196 employees responded to the questionnaires and hence, the response rate was 92.8 percent. Besides, descriptive statistical tools like percentage, mean and standard deviation are used to illustrate the demographic characteristics of the respondents and to assess the perception of employees from data collected through questionnaire and the study revealed that majority of the respondents inclined to disagreed on career development practices. Thus, inferential statistical methods like correlation analysis was used to assess the relationship between career development practices and employee’s motivation, multiple linear regression analysis also was employed to examine the influence of career development practices on employee’s motivation by using primary data collected through five scale likert questionnaire. Based on the findings of the study, all career development practice such as staff training(r=0.751), promotion (r=0.808), staff counselling(r=0.799) and career planning(r=0.70) have a positive correlation with employee’s motivation. The multiple linear regression analysis result revealed that all explanatory variables (staff training beta value=0.143, Promotion beta value=0.382, Career planning beta value=0.082 and staff counselling beta value=0.226)have a significant effect on employee’s motivation. This indicated that career development practices determine the employee’s motivation of Haweela woreda selected office. Therefore, Haweela woreda selected offices should implement career development practices approaches appropriately and continuously as an indispensable tool to build long lasting relationships with employee’s so as to encourage and maintain sustainable employee’s motivation.Item FACTORS AFFECTING RURAL YOUTHS ENTREPRENEURIAL BUSINESS PEFORMANCE: A CASE OF MICRO AND SMALL ENTERPRISES IN WONSHO WOREDA(HAWASSA UNIVERSITY, 2024-03) ANDINET ASFAW ARGETAThis research paper was aimed the factors affecting rural youth’s entrepreneurial business performance of MSEs that currently working in central zone wonsho worade. This study was employed a descriptive and explanatory research design qualitative and quantitative research approach. Both primary and secondary data was employed. Questionnaire was that main data collection instrument. Among 824 MSE operators, 269 sample size were selected using stratified and simple random technique. After the data has been collected, it was analyzed using simple statistical techniques. The descriptive and inferential statistical tools were used, Pearson correlation and multiple linear regression were used to analyze the relationship and difference between independent and dependent variables. Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 23 was used to analysis of quantitative data from questionnaire questions. Furthermore, the research finding shows that among the independent variables financial factors, infrastructural factors, marketing skill and strategy factor, legal and regulatory factor and business information factor were the major factors that significantly affect the performance of MSEs. Based on the findings the study was recommended that financial institutions such as banks and micro finance institutions should improve access to finance problems of MSEs operators, all other governmental institutions/woreda Administration should give attention and should improve access to infrastructural, marketing factor, legal and regulatory factors and business information in order to improve the performance of MSEs in wonsho woredaItem FACTORS AFFECTING CUSTOMERS PURCHASING DECISION OF HEALTHSUPPLEMENT PRODUCTS: A CASE OF HAWASSA CITY(HAWASSA UNIVERSITY, 2024-03) ALEMAYEHU TESFA BERHANUThis study was aimed to assess factors affecting customers’ purchasing decision for health supplement products in Hawassa city. To achieve the objective, the study has tried to consider about seven determinant factors of purchasing decision namely product price, quality, Promotion, sources of information, availability of product, brand popularity, and customer level of perception. Based on this, data was collected from customers using questionnaire and unstructured interview. Hence, 240 respondents were participated in the study using convenience sampling technique. Both descriptive and inferential statistics methods were applied to analyses the collected data. The result of the study reveals that purchasing decision of customers affectedby all of the identified determinant factors such as, price, quality, product promotion, sources of information, available product, brand availability, and perception and customer’s awareness. Consequently, the major findings of the study implied that, price and brand have more impact on the purchasing decision of customers engaged in lower monthly income than customers engaged in middle and higher monthly income. The study also showed that, product availability affect customer purchasing decision regarding by distance. Accordingly, most customers decided to purchase products where locally available than far apart from their surrounding area. The other determinant factor that the finding implied was sources of information; in this regard majority of customers’ purchasing decision was affected by the sources of information. Regarding, the perception of customers educated customers have better product understanding than less educated customers. In general, the results of correlation analysis revealed that all of the identified determinant factors affect customer purchasing decision which indicates at a statistical measures p < 0.05. Furthermore, multiple regressions also identify which determinant variable more affect customer purchasing decision. Thus, Price of product highly and positively affect customer purchasing decision followed by product quality, perception of customer, sources of information, availability of products, brand popularity and sales promotion. A mixed research design was employed. Data was collected through Multi stage sampling from 1472 target population three hundred (300) students with a response rate of 95.2%. The data was presented to analyze descriptive statistics, reliability test and comparing Inferential Analyses (i.e. correlation analysis, multiple linear regressions, and ANOVA) with the aid of statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) version 23. The findings of the study indicates that all five factors in the research was identified as critical factors that influence Students’ Perception on Service Quality. The value of R square obtained was 0.839, demonstrates that 83.9% of Students’ Perception on Service Quality variation can be explained by the independent variables. The study concluded that all factors that used in this study have a positive and significant influence on Students’ Perception on Service (P<0.05). Based on the finding, the researcher forwarded recmendations that Higher Education Institution Management should focus and work on the above statistically significant factor in order to enhance and increases service qualityItem THE EFFECT OF OCCUPATIONAL STRESS ON EMPLOYEES’ JOB PERFORMANCE: A CASE OF MOHA SOFT DRINKS INDUSTRY (PEPSI COLA) AT HAWASSA MILLENNIUM PLANT(HAWASSA UNIVERSITY, 2024-03) BELAY TAFFESE WONDIMAGEGThe main purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of effects of four occupational stress factors including of Time-pressure, role ambiguity, conflict at work and physical work condition on Employees job performance in MOHA Soft Drinks Industry pepsi cola at Hawassa millennium plant, The research design was a descriptive and explanatory research design and the target population was 512 employees of Hawassa millennium plant of Pepsi and out of target population 224 sample sizes were drawn by using stratified sampling technique. Data was collected using questionnaires and interviews. Descriptive analysis namely, frequency, percentages, mean, and standard deviations, and inferential analysis namely, correlation analysis, multiple linear regression were employed and analysed using SPSS Version 26, the study were used primary source of data. Results of the descriptive statistics showed a high mean score for Role ambiguity while Time pressure, physical working condition, and Role conflict mean showed a high. The correlation result implied that, Time pressure and role conflict at workplace has positive and significant effect on job performance, while, role ambiguity and physical work condition has negative and significant relationship effect on job performance, while data could not support the significance of time pressure and role conflict at workplace, The result from regression analysis implied that among the independent variables, Role of Ambiguity is more negatively and statistically significant effect with Employees job performance with Beta=.462, or (46.2%), The researcher suggested on each dimension of occupational stress by enhancing the process and structure issues. Employing a descriptive and explanatory research design, the research follows both qualitative and quantitative research approaches. Multi-stage sampling techniques were employed to select the study area keeping in different steps to reach out 369 respondents which were determined by suing sample size determination formula. Both secondary and primary data sources were collected through content analysis, taking short notes, interviews, questionnaires and visual aids. The analysis involves the use of various statistical measures, including frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, correlation, and multiple linear regression. The study was serving as a benchmark for future researchers. The scope of this study was took place as per schedules set by the school of management from September 2023 to March 2024.The limitations were with in specific kebeles and some respondents were not willingness to reply the research questionary . The conceptual framework of the study was included by summarizing different literature .In studied area have 22 rural and 2 urban kebeles out of which only four kebeles were selecte memberes of cooperative faremeres /2500/ purposely for this study.The selected included :- Bombe, Alo ,Mokonisa and Shantawene. 208 sample size was selected from the study population by randame sampling techuique through Cochran formula 2014 . Researcher was used primary and secondary data. Primary data were collected through a questonnaire from 202 primary coffee producers by employing a simple random sampling technique . Interviews were also conducted with cooperative officials and executives of the selected public cooperatives in Bensa woreda respondents. Qualitative and quantitative research approaches were employed. Descriptive statistics and inferential statistics methods were employed to analyze the data. This study provided between the dependent variable ( the performance of Primary Coffee Producing Cooperatives ) and independent variables (Prices, Role of chain actor, Access of market facilities, Market information and Infrastructure problem). The correlation analysis result show, all of the independent variables were positively and strongly correlated with the dependent variable (the performance of Primary Coffee Producing Cooperatives ). The regression analysis result shows all of the independent variables were a positively significant effect on the dependent variable.Based on the finding of the study recommended that government to maintain good inferasturactuer by facilitating the road /transportation ,telephone and electric power for primary coffee producers to increase production, to improv communication channel in order to increase coffee productivityItem THE EFFECT OF CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY ON BUILDING BRAND EQUITY: A CASE OF AMHARA BANK S.C(HAWASSA UNIVERSITY, 2024-03) ZINASH MOGESCorporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has become increasingly important for organizations worldwide as consumers become more socially and environmentally conscious. Amhara Bank has made a deliberate effort to demonstrate leadership in CSR initiatives in the country, and this study was conducted to investigate the effect of CSR practices on building the bank's brand equity. The study used both quantitative and qualitative research methods, and explanatory and descriptive types of research design were employed. The data were collected using interviews and questionnaires. The questionnaire was administered to 371 conveniently selected respondents, and an interview was conducted with all seven staff members of the corporate social service division. The findings of the study revealed that most of the respondents were aware of the CSR practice of the bank. The study also found that the CSR practice of the bank made a significant contribution to the company's brand equity. Moreover, the individual CSR elements such as economic CSR, Legal CSR, Ethical CSR, and Philanthropic CSR practices of the bank o had a significant impact on brand equity. The interview conducted with staff members of the corporate social service division indicated that the bank's CSR practice is a basic strategic objective of the bank and is well-structured. Despite the banks lack of publicity regarding its CSR activities, customers appear to have a general awareness of the bank's CSR programs. To embark on a successful journey towards corporate social responsibility (CSR), the bank needs to improve its CSR policy, guidelines, and procedures. Investing a suitable budget or portion of profits towards Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives is a commendable way to showcase Goodwill towards society. Based on research findings, it is imperative to enhance customers' awareness of ongoing corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs. The study found that the bank's CSR practices are significantly related to its brand equity. The study explored various dimensions and customer-based metrics and found that Philanthropic CSR has the strongest correlation with brand equity. In conclusion, the findings of the study suggest that CSR practices have a positive impact on the bank's brand equity, and the bank must continue to focus on CSR initiatives as a strategic objective. The bank needs to improve its CSR policy, guidelines, and procedures and invest a suitable budget towards CSR activities. The study also suggests that the bank must give more focus and an organized approach to identifying and executing various social and environmental CSR projectsItem FACTORS AFFECTING EFFECTIVENESS OF SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT PRACTICES: A CASE OF SELECTED PHARMACIES AND DRUG STORES IN HAWASSA CITY SIDAMA REGION, ETHIOPIA(HAWASSA UNIVERSITY, 2024-03) MARGIR YIRGUSupply chain management is the coordination and management of activities involved in the production and delivery of products or services to customers. The main objective of this study is to investigate factors affecting the effectiveness of supply chain management practices at selected pharmacies and drug stores in Hawassa City, Sidama Region, Ethiopia. Independent variables namely; counterfeiting, global economic condition, inventory management, procurement process, regulatory requirements, technology utilization, transport, and logistics, were identified and examined. The effectiveness of supply chain management practices was a dependent variable in the study. To achieve study objectives, quantitative and qualitative research approaches with an explanatory and descriptive research design were used. The study used the judgmental sampling method, considering certain characteristics. The primary data was collected from 154 respondents by using Likert-scale survey questionnaires. Qualitative data was also collected through a semi-structured interview. Quantitative data was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics with the help of Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 25 software. The correlation result of the study indicates that all independent variables have a positive and significant relationship with the dependent variable. The regression result also shows that, except for counterfeiting, the remaining independent variables have a positive effect on the effectiveness of supply chain management practices. The study concluded that there was a significant and positive association between all independent variables and the dependent variable. All independent variables positively and significantly affect the effectiveness of supply chain management practices, except counterfeiting. Counterfeiting negatively affects the effectiveness of supply chain management practices at selected pharmacies and drug stores in Hawassa City. To enhance the effectiveness of supply chain management practices, the study forwarded recommendations to key stakeholders such as regulatory authorities, pharmacy associations and professional organizations, government and development agencies, and educational instructions.Item DETERMINANTS OF ENTREPRENEURIAL INTENTION AMONG GRADUATE STUDENTS: A CASE OF ALETAWONDO POLY TECHNIQUE COLLEGE(HAWASSA UNIVERSITY, 2024-03) Misganaw Teferi HoyamoThe research aimed to delve into the intricate determinants of entrepreneurial intentions among graduate students at Aleta Wondo Poly Technique College. Specifically this study was intended to find out the determinants such as attitude, social norms, personality, risk taking propensity, perceived behavioral and family background on entrepreneurial intentions. Descriptive and explanatory research design was adopted with both qualitative and quantitative approaches. Primary data collected through questionnaires. Target population conducted from selected department in Aleta Wondo Poly Technique College from which 154 respondents were randomly selected and the study has been continued with 132 response rate as representative of population and made Analysis. Descriptive and inferential analysis were undertaken to describe entrepreneurial intentions as well as to determine the correlation between factors entrepreneurial intentions and attitude ,social norms ,personality ,risk taking propensity ,perceived behavioral and family background on entrepreneurial intentions in that order. The result of the study revealed that independent variables had statistically significant correlation with entrepreneurial intention as it checked by Pearson’s coefficient correlation. Also the result of multiple linear regression analysis model shows that both predicted factors have about 73.3% effect on entrepreneurial intentions among graduate students at Aleta Wondo Poly Technique College. After completing data analysis, the conclusion was drawn based on the major findings of statistically significant variables. All variables accounts the lion share of effect that followed by each other’s respectively. The analysis of this study was conducted by discussing various views of supplier selection practice, external environment, internal policy and procurement practices and their influence on the supply chain management performance and the key SCMP indicators quality,cost,time and productivity. The study adopted both descriptive and explanatory research design and stratified sampling technique was used and the sample was selected from each strata by simple random sampling technique lottery method. descriptive and inferential analyses statistics was applied for data analysis. Mean and Standard deviation explained the descriptive statistics while Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient and Multiple Regression describes the inferential. Information was gathered using a five point Likert scale questionnaire from a sample of 295 out this 290 questioner were properly filled and collected from the respondent and data analysis were contacted based on 290 sample 5 questioners was rejected. In addition to this the study recommends that it is better the company pay more attentions to internal policy and procedures in order to improve cycle time, operation skills and capabilities to enhance the supply chain management performance of the companyItem THE EFFECT OF MARKETING MIX STRATEGIES ON SALES PERFORMANCE: A CASE OF MOHA SOFT DRINK INDUSTRY S.C HAWASSA MILLENNIUM PEPSI COLAPLANT(HAWASSA UNIVERSITY, 2024-03) Abiyu Mekonnen AlemThe general objective of this study was to investigate the effects of marketing mix strategy on sales performance in the context of the MOHA Soft Drink Industry S.C Hawassa Millennium Pepsi Cola Plant. The researcher used descriptive and explanatory research design with mixed approach in order to meet the objective of the study. The target population for this study was300 permanent employee of at MOHA Soft Drink Industry S.C Hawassa Millennium Pepsi Cola Plant. Out of 300 permanent employees, 172 respondents were selected using simple random sampling technique. In this study four components of marketing mix strategy have identified namely product, price, place and promotion. Five point Likert scale questionnaire were used to collect the data. A total of 172 questionnaires were used for this study and the data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The data collected were summarized, analyzed using SPSS version 21. The result of Spearman correlation test shows that there exists Appositive relationship between the four independent marketing mix dimension variables (i.e. Product, price, place, and promotion.) and sales performance. But the magnitude of the relationship varies from one marketing mix dimensions to the other where, price has a dominate correlation with sales performance, followed by promotion, place and finally product has respectively correlation with sales performance. The result of multiple regressions shows that 75.8% of the variance of sales performance can be predicted by the independent variable (i.e. product, price, place and promotion.). In addition, the result of multiple regressions shows that Product, price, place and promotion. Have positive significant effect on sales performance. ETHIOPIA HAWASSA PLANT, HAWASSA, ETHIOPIA(HAWASSA UNIVERSITY, 2024-03) TAMIRAT TAFESSEThe purpose of this study Is to identify the effect of marketing information system on sales performance in case of B.G.I Ethiopia, Hawassa Plant. The study was done from March 2023 to March 2024. To accomplish the objectives of the study both primary and secondary data were used. The study adopted quantitative research approach with theuseofsurveyquestionnairetoelicitdatafromthetargetpopulation.231sampleswas selected from543respondents. More over stratified sampling technique was used to select 231 samples and purposive sampling was used to distribute 231 questionnaires.. Finally 218 samples were used for final analysiswith96.15% of questionnaire response rate. Descriptive as well as explanatory research design was used to test the hypothesis developed. Descriptive and inferential statistical tools such as; Frequency tables, percentages, Means, standard deviations, Pearson correlation and multiple linear regression analysis were used for data analysis with the support of SPSS version 26 to analyze the core data. The mean score of measurement variables indicates that the respondents were answered as the firms sales performance is strong and as all sales forces are doing well.. This shows that there is a sales performance in the selected case areas.. The correlation results revealed that Marketing Information system has positive and significant relationship with all independent variable included in the study. Multiple regression model explained 80.2% of the variance in sales performance while the collective marketing information system variables included in this study was found to be significant (P<0.000).) All of the independent variable included in study were statistically significant (either at p<0.05or p<0.01). The most important finding is that marketing research (p<0.01), Internal recording system (p<0.05), Marketing decision support system (p<0.05), and Marketing intelligence (p<0.05) are the variables included in the study. Quantitative research approach along with Explanatory research design was adopted to address the specific objectives of the study. Population of the study was Ethio Telecom service subscribers, of which a sample size of 385 was selected. Convenience sampling technique which is one type of non-probability sampling was applied. Structured questionnaires were used to collect primary data from the targeted sample respondents. SPSS version 20 statistical tool was also used for carrying out both descriptive and inferential statistics analyses. Multiple linear regression was employed to investigate the relationship between customer relationship management and customer satisfaction. Results of the findings revealed that network quality, perceived value, loyalty program and relational experience dimensions of customer relationship management had strong and positive relation with customer satisfaction in the context of Ethio Telecom’s service subscribers. Network quality had relatively the highest positive and statistically significant effect on customer satisfaction followed by loyalty program offered by the company. Perceived value and relational experience showed the least influence on customer satisfaction. As stated in various references, the performance of Ethiopian coffee exports to the rest of the world is low in relation to the country's potential. Therefore, the main objective of conducting this study is to examine the determinants of the export performance of coffee in Ethiopia. Accordingly, seven specific objectives have been developed under the theme of the main objective, comprising the variables examined; Company barriers, product barriers, institutional support problems, government policy and regulatory factors, export industry barriers, export market challenges and infrastructural challenges in Ethiopia. To achieve the goal of the study, the researcher used a mixed research approach that combines both a qualitative and a quantitative research approach. Both primary and secondary data sources were used in conducting the study. The primary data were collected through questionnaires and interviews .The secondary data was used by various websites, articles ,and research edited in the area of the study. In order to arrive at meaningful facts and conclusions, the collected data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. This study aims to investigate the effect of internal enterprise activities on cost reduction in educational institutions in case of Hawassa university main campus. This thesis intends to explore the relationship between internal enterprise activities and cost reduction, identify the most effective practices, and provide recommendations for educational institutions to achieve optimal cost savings. The study adopted explanatory research design and 385 sample respondents participated from students, employees and top administrative of the campus. A convenience probability sampling technique was applied to select the targeted respondents. Primary data were collected using self-administered questionnaires for analysis. The result endorses that all the six determinates of internal enterprise such as administrative efficiency, technological adoption, outsourcing, efficient resource allocation, staff development, and sustainable practices had significant effect on overall cost reduction. As tuition fees constantly rise and funding becomes scarcer, educational institutions are required to explore innovative ways to reduce operational costs and ensure financial sustainability. Identifying and addressing inefficiencies in administrative tasks, organizations can reduce overhead costs and improve productivity. Embracing new technologies such as automation, data analytics, and cloud computing can streamline operations, increase efficiency, and reduce the need for manual labor. The study was conducted the lack of satisfaction on employee performance. The study was serving as a benchmark for coming researchers. The scope of this study was took place as per schedules set by the school of management from September 2023 to March 2024. Limitations was in the specific sidama region Hawassa district and some respondents was not willingness to reply the research questioners. The conceptual framework of the study was included by summarizing different literature. The targeted populations was EEPCO Employees in Hawassa city and using simple random sampling method 109 respondents was selected from permanent office workers and 92 questionnaires was collected for further process. The study used primary data which was collected using structured questionnaires & unstructured interview, and secondary data that was collected from the annual reports, manuals, journals and policy documents of the organization. The collected data was sorted for validity, reliability and coded. A technique such as tabulation and percentages was employed and data was quantitatively analyzed using mean and standard deviation followed by a correlation and regression analysis. The study results revealed that though the organization uses a compensation Management practices to motivate its employees was not blended in line with the magnitude of their effect on employee performance. Finally, standing on study finding, recommendation was provided to the organization adjust its compensation policies in order to align the compensation Management practices with their respective correlation that could optimize employee performancItem ULFILLMENT OF THE REQUIRMENTS FOR THE MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINSTRATION (MBA) SPECIALIZATION IN Human RESOURCE MANAGEMENT(HAWASSA UNIVERSITY, 2024-04) BELAYNESH HANSARO HTISOThis research was conducted to examine the effect of staff retention policies on organizational commitment in the case of awash bank (AWIB) Branches in Hawassa City using drivers of organizational commitment as an indicator. Data was gathered from all branches (in Hawassa City. Descriptive and inferential statistics was used to analyze the empirical data and also cluster sampling was used followed by systematic sampling to select the samples. Primary data were collected using five Point Likert-Scale questionnaires and a structured interview and 150 questionnaires were properly filled and returned. Statistical package for social science studies (SPSS) version 25 was used to analyze empirical data collected through the close ended questionnaire. The independent variables are compensation, job security, Training and development, working conditions, supervisor support culture, and organizational justice whereas the dependent variable is employees’ organizational commitment. The mean and standard deviation of the dependent and independent variables were computed and interpreted. Pearson correlation Coefficient (r) was used to determine the relationship between each independent variable with the dependent variable. The correlation result indicated that there were positive relationship between all of independent variables and the dependent variable. This implies that any increase or decrease on the independent variable will bring corresponding change on employees’ organizational commitment. It’s found that the independent variables has a 73% influence on the dependent variable while the remaining 27% is influenced by factors unaccounted in this research. It was concluded that the organization’s management expectation to increase overall employees’ commitment as a result of the said staff retention policies did not materialize for various reasons such as lengthy and bureaucratic process, various eligibility criterion… etc.
